RIMIX Open Seminar

For: All the Ritsumeikan Academy Students

The RIMIX Open Seminar is a new online and offline community where students of Ritsumeikan learn and share themes that suit their interests with their peers.

High school and university students with the same interests can participate freely in this seminar and learn together.
In addition, teachers and current university students who are active in various fields as external guests and seminar supporters will form a community with you.

In this seminar, as an extracurricular program, we welcome you as an outside guest whom we rarely meet in college or high school, and aim to deepen the learning with the participants.

SDGs Expression Theory

For:Ritsumeikan University Students

“SDGs Expression Theory” is an online course held at the Liberal Arts Seminar and JMOOC held on the three campuses of Ritsumeikan University.Based on project-based learning (PBL) and active learning, the aim is to learn and acquire the SDGs skills necessary for students to proactively launch my projects and work to solve social issues.

It is not our main focus to unraveling the SDGs themselves, but rather to present opportunities for each person to think about how to think about the SDGs as their own.

Based on the belief that individual interests, interests, and awareness of the problem will surely lead to the SDGs, each person will launch his or her own project, put the SDGs there, and propose to work first.Then, people all over the world think about the significance of changing the world by working on my project.


CHALLENGER-SHIP – Developing each and every one’s social problem solving ideas and fostering a business mindset

 

PRESIDENT PITCH CHALLENGE

For: All the Ritsumeikan Academy Students

RIMIX aims to develop human resources and social entrepreneurs “Impact-Makers” who can solve social issues such as SDGs through business. “President PITCH CHALLENGE” will be held at Ritsumeikan Gakuen to foster the momentum to foster social entrepreneurs.

President PITCH CHALLENGE is a program for all students, students and children belonging to Ritsumeikan Gakuen. This is a series of programs supported by Sony Startup Acceleration Program (SSAP) of Sony Group, Inc., where ideas born out of one’s own interests are brushed up to the business level, and a pitch (short presentation) is given to the president of Ritsumeikan Incorporated Institution and entrepreneurs who are active on the front lines in the startup field.

In addition to classes and extracurricular activities, we will develop self-directed activities by giving lectures on our business mindset and know-how based on our desire to take on new challenges.

EDGE+R Program

For: Ritsumeikan University Students

Ritsumeikan University EDGE+R (Innovation Architect Training Program) is a program to train people who can create innovative human resources who can create innovation, which has been adopted in the Next Generation Entrepreneur Development Project of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, and will train people who will try new things both inside and outside the university.We will prepare a variety of programs that transcend the boundaries of faculties as a place where diverse people mix, such as those who want to start a business, those who want to work together, and those who want to solve corporate issues.Through self-autonomous team activities, we provide extracurricular practical learning to experience the “fun” and “process” of creating new value.

We accept students from both inside and outside the university, and organize a human and science fusion team consisting of members from various backgrounds.To date, approximately 1,300 students (2014-2018), including students from 11 faculties and 14 graduate schools on campus, as well as undergraduate students, graduate students, and working adults from other universities, have taken the course.

In fiscal 2020, we are recruiting EDGE-Sprout students all year round, and the EDGE+R program (regular course) is scheduled to be open around September.In addition, during the spring semester of 2020, we plan to hold online public events such as “Entrepreneur and Entrepreneur Talk Event” and “Design Driven Innovation Workshop sponsored by companies.”

Innovation Sommelier

For: Ritsumeikan University Students

The Innovation Sommelier Program for Entrepreneurs is an extracurricular program for people who want to implement technology and ideas created in their laboratories and activities in society.

In this program, students learn about innovation by Professor Yamaguchi, who has experience in starting multiple tech companies. They also have interactive conversations and lively discussions between teachers and participants, and help participants brush up their ideas while staying close to them.

Program participants aim to develop into innovation sommeliers who can solve social issues by utilizing their own technological capabilities while bringing about innovation. Within the program, as an output, we support the challenge of the president’s pitch challenge.

Ritsumeikan Next Leader Program

For: High school students at Ritsumeikan Academy

It is a leader development program for third-year high school students of Ritsumeikan University sponsored by the Integrated Education Department of Ritsumeikan. This year marks the 13 year anniversary of the program.

The characteristic of this program is that university students who are active in Ritsumeikan University and Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University become mentors for each team and work together.

President Pitch is a contest for students, students, and children belonging to Ritsumeikan to brush up their ideas to solve social issues to the business level and pitch to the president.Through classes and extracurricular activities, we are developing our desire to work more on and take on challenges into more autonomous activities by giving lectures on business mind and know-how.

Ritsumeikan University Student Venture Contest

For:High-school & University Students in Japan

The Student Venture Contest is a business plan contest held by Ritsumeikan University since 2004 with the aim of creating university-based ventures and fostering entrepreneurship by soliciting plans based on students’ technologies and business ideas.
Through mentoring, workshops, and seminars by startup professionals, we will take on the challenge of the final screening and focus on the world of business that opens up the experience of this contest on their own.
In fiscal 2020, applications will be accepted from July 1 to September 30, and the final screening presentation will be held on December 6 via the 1st and 2nd stages.

Target: Students enrolled in universities, graduate schools, technical colleges, and junior colleges nationwide

Ritsumeikan University Student Venture Contest

APU Entrepreneurship Department (Deguchi-Juku)

For:APU Students

The APU Entrepreneurship Department, led by Haruaki Deguchi, president of Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University (APU), which was an entrepreneur of a venture company, is a practical program that fosters students who want to start businesses in the future as entrepreneurs and fosters the ability to play an active role both in Japan and abroad.
The APU Entrepreneurship Department provides guidance from faculty and staff mentors with experience in entrepreneurship, and holds lectures inviting entrepreneurs and entrepreneurs who are active at the forefront of society, and receives support from the government and the business community in Kyushu.From the first year, four groups of students started their own businesses both in Japan and abroad.

ENTREPRENEUR – Supporting people who are serious about starting a business and creating a social impact

 

RSIF: Ritsumeikan Social Impact Fund

RIMIX aims to train “Social Entrepreneurs: Impact-Makers,” human resources who can provide seamless support from challenges to entrepreneurship and actively solve social issues from the elementary and secondary education stages, based on the awareness of students, students, and children on issues common to all humankind, such as the SDGs, and the spirit of challenge that arises therefrom. We will create new value for society by discovering, nurturing and pushing the unique ideas of students, students and children who will lead the next generation.

The Ritsumeikan Incorporated Educational Institution has established the “RSIF (Ritsumeikan Social Impact Fund: Ritsumeikan Social Impact Fund)” with a scale of 1 billion yen, using the past asset management income as a resource, in order to take on the function of investing in those who seriously intend to start up a business on the RIMIX platform. By pursuing not only monetary returns but also double-track returns, we quantitatively and qualitatively assess the social and environmental changes and effects resulting from business activities. Provide value judgments other than monetary returns.
